HOW COULD THE APPLE OF CHARLES STANLEY’S EYE (Andy Stanley) FALL SO FAR FROM THE TREE HE IS IN THE OCEAN? In this article, Andy Stanley willfully endorses demonic heresy multiple times and agrees with other heretics who, it seems, take great glee in attacking the Bible and trying to destroy its authority while glorifying deconstructionism. This is so far from the preaching and teaching of his father, Charles Stanley; it is like they have never known each other. How can that be? Well, ask Eli and especially Samuel. Eli was not a good father, and his sons were whoremongers in the Church. However, none of us can imagine Samuel not being a good father, yet both sets of children turned out terribly.
All fathers still need to believe and practice “training up a child in the way he should go, and he will not depart from it.” Understand that the child turning out right and not “departing” from what a good father taught them may come after God the Father takes them to the woodshed for a little while before they understand what the natural father was trying to teach them not to depart from. And that “departing from the way” thing comes about because of each individual’s sinful, wicked nature, free moral agency, and generational curses coming down the pike is very powerful.
Whyte says, believe it or not, he still holds out hope that Andy Stanley will repent. So raise your children according to the Word of God, then turn them over to God when they get grown, pray for them without ceasing, and fast for them as well.
In a recent sermon about what one must believe to be a Christian, Andy Stanley flat out argued that we must not insist that Christians believe in the inerrancy of the bible in order to be a Jesus follower, saying that demanding potential converts believe the bible is true and without error is an unnecessary obstacle to them coming to Christ. Then he went on Twitter to “like” posts agreeing with him and saying all sorts of terrible things.
After the naked pastor posted this article praising deconstruction, Stanley offered that it (deconstruction) should be encouraged:
He then “liked” a comment by Mason Mennenga, one of the most radical xtian progressives on the internet today who has undoubtedly abandoned the faith and is NOT a Christian, having rejected nearly all its precepts.
In particular, Stanley liked many responses to Grant Castleberry’s defense of the inerrancy of scripture, including one from Ryan Duff, who says that the scriptures are not needed and to suggest otherwise is to engage in idolatry.
Then this response from Jennifer White challenging the notion that one must believe the bible is true.
He liked this post from Daywoo, who said that salvation is assured no matter what one thinks of the bible, presumably even if you believe it is chock full of errors or perhaps that it’s merely a collection of old stories written by fallible men that exaggerate and create fanciful stories that have no basis in truth.
Andy Stanley liked a post saying that those who insist on the inerrancy and infallibility of the scripture are harboring personal and spiritual insecurity, and that inerrancy and infallibility are just an evangelical “schtick:
He liked this one by Social Conserv, and another by They’retic, saying that Paul wouldn’t have been arrogant enough to consider his letter to Timothy ‘scripture’. Yet Paul believed that Jesus had granted him divine authority to impart the Word of God on Jesus’ behalf. He refers to his own writings as a ‘command’ of the Lord in 1 Corinthians 14:36-37 “If anyone thinks they are a prophet or otherwise gifted by the Spirit, let them acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. But if anyone ignores this, they will themselves be ignored” and then later wrote in Thessalonians 2:13 “And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.”
